A good overall portrayal.. Have read that prior to the California Aqueduct and its water system, the Persian system was the largest ever created. The silting that occurred was not due to the Mongols, at least in my accounts, but to the deaths of up to one million in Baghdad, that left the area so desolate of population, that it could no longer be maintained. The devastation that wrought is still with them.
