A very well thought out and argued article.
Yes, some people, less than ten percent, live in poverty. The remainder live better than most kings and emperors throughout history. It is continually evolving and getting better.
It is also true that given human nature it could also be gone tomorrow.
My favorite example is Fidel Castro, egging Khrushchev on, towards nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The difference between them was Khrushchev had been in World War Two and Castro was just a successful revolutionary. Which leaves the question on the table, will we be as lucky next time?
