As a boomer, the main push to go college, from 1964-1974 was Vietnam, not for a career. Colleges overflowed with students, which led to students thinking things had to be relevant, instead of useful or educational. Colleges have never recovered from that tragedy, which has led to a close extinction of the educated individual as opposed to the college graduate. Was 4F so the war was not a factor in my education or college degree.
