Have had numerous wonderful conversations on airlines, trains, while hitch hiking, or just in restaurants and other food or beverage outlets, all without ever exchanging names.

Some how, at least for me, the exchanges flow so much more freely, names just get in the way and add a formality, that is definitely not needed.
