Having read the other comments, mine is a slightly different take on the art. The number one correlation for homelessness is a lack of housing. The areas with the highest rates have the least affordable housing. Am not convinced that it all revolves around me, so much as a fear of those who are different, especially those who are not part of our daily lives. Many are insecure, this is emphasized when children are present. Children, bless them, once they realize it is only a statue go immediately to play mode. The rest don’t want their world view changed, alas.
