In college read Frank Herbert's novel Dune. There was a character in it named Thufir Hawit, he was a mentat, sort of a mind teach mentor. His mantra was "Fear is the mind killer" That has stayed with me since, simply refuse to be afraid. Go forth and conquer only to discover that peace is much simpler, and also free of fear.
