It seems so odd, that Dima is the adult, and Ian the child, in terms of coming to accept, or deal with realities. Dima, being the more philosophical, being Russian, probably knows, we only have what we have, when we have it. Beyond that, who knows. Here’s wishing he does not become inured to life.
