Life may be beautiful, but no one ever said it was easy or fair. For the Buddhist, emptiness is the source of meaningfulness, a twist on your phrase.

We have little to no control over the forces in our lives, we do have, or at least can gain control, over how we respond to what happens in our lives That is the limit of what we have within our control, if we have even that, which takes training.
