Our mental models of the world are determined by our surroundings.

In a number of cases it is not so much the surroundings as the body that the consciousness is in that can determine things.

The very nature of our human character is volatile in regards to how the universe influence it.

Indeed it can be, BUT any given individual can begin to soften or even dissolve that volatility, so that they move with ease and peace, even in times of crisis.
