Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, the founder of the San Francisco Zen Center, said to one practitioner, :You are perfect as you are, and there is plenty of room for improvement."

Granted Buddhism has no God, it is questionable if it has spirituality, it does not preach love, but does preach loving kindness.

The Universe is the physical body of either God or the Dharma, both work. Expecting things of others is rarely a good idea, it is a road that is filled more with failure than reward. Expecting people to be more than they are is equally problematic.

Newton said that energy can neither be created or destroyed merely transformed. To date that has not been altered, which is not to say at some future date it won't be. If one follows up with Einstein's E=mc2, then energy and matter are the same. Add consciousness as an ingredient inherent in either, and one gets to a universal truth, that may or may not have a God or Love, but does offer peace. Sometimes that is as good as it can get.
