Skipped A Hard Day’s Night, never was a Beatles fan. A song here or there but not much caught my ear.
Zulu was fantastic!! The recreation, the ending, the listing for the troops, ala VC’s, don’t want to spoil it for others, Michael Caine was as good as anything I ever saw him in, he was a favorite and more than worthy of the nomination.

Becket, saw again last year with my sister in law, she had never seen it. Burton as a man of principle, after having dispatched any and all is mighty in his transformation. The rest is good, Peter O’toole has done quite well playing Henry II.
Side note, saw Burton live performing in Camelot, 1982 or 1983. He was dying. Actors, artists, everyone was flying in to see him. He came on stage, as Arthur, the audience gasped, out loud. Even with makeup, the lines, age, and what he had devolved to was totally apparent.
He stayed there, still, listening, and when he judged it right, spoke. No more than twenty minutes later we were all entranced with the sound of his voice. No one left at intermission. When Burton finally arrived for his curtain call, he received a standing ovation. Back then it was a great rarity.
Believe, after experiencing him on stage, he really could draw a crowd just by reading the phone book.
