"The fundamental challenge for Democrats is to develop a unified, effective response to the intense polarization around race intentionally driven by Trump and boosted by the interlocking elements of the rightwing propaganda machine."

If that were true, then Trump should have seen lower percentages of black, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Americans voting for him. The outcome of the election showed they voted for him with increased numbers and percentages. Trump approached George W. Bush levels of Hispanic support, and had large increases in Native American, and Black Male support. That does not happen if his vision is totally and intentionally driven by racial polarization.
