The name of the person you were wondering about is Hillel. He lived around 60 or so B.C. to about 10 A.D. What isn't mentioned is that there is a third part to it. That God will see we love him, by how we love those around us.

When it says love your neighbor as yourself, that is it, period. There are no exceptions is they are say Black, Islamic, Disabled, or anything else. There are no reasons not to love your neighbor or the people you meet on the way to where ever.

Some you will get along with better than others, all that God asks is that you do the best you can. As Suzuki, who founded the San Francisco Zen Center said to a student: "You are perfect as you are, and there is plenty of room for improvement.".

Prefer to use the term Creator, as to many people have made God in their image and forgotten we are made in It's image.

It is used because the Creator, created males, females, hermaphrodites, asexuals (think single celled creatures, like the amoeba), and other forms.

Hence God has no particular gender or sex, they were created by It, but are not an inherent part of it.

Sorry for the long post. Really liked your post.
