The only area where there is disagreement with is that the perpetrators do not also have trauma.
Having to maintain a fairly high degree of repression, will have a marked effect on their marriage and children.
Both in this case see their father/husband go off to war and come back a different person. They can no longer be who they were, nor can they let their family know what they did.
This is likely to result in a much more stern and demanding person, to keep things in check. To
Believe it does not produce trauma or at least disfunction in a family is somewhat naive.
To suppose Israel is the only nation acting in such a manner is easily disposed by looking at any number of other nations. That does not excuse it, but it is a regular use of power through out our world.
A memorial is the least that should be done for the dead and their descendants.
