This is a reply to a reply so I hope it reaches you. Yesterday was in an Italian restaurant, with pictures of Cefula Italy. One was a painting by Antonello di Messina. Which led me to look for more pictures by him. Came across "Virgin Annunciate", the portrait is good, but the blue of the vail and its transparency are amazing for the period. Thought I would pass it along if it is unknown to you. Not being Christian the hand gestures are unknown to me. Kindest Regards.
