Trust, reliance, fidelity once broken is never easily repaired. Knowing that someone you trusted and loved completely, could step away so easily, is a shock to everything one believed about them. Your poem beautifully and movingly articulates that sadness. The future is always an unknown but to have what was thought to be something so secure with another to prove false, will shake a person’s very foundations.
