Yet some children seem to have innate values instilled in them, that are either absent or minimal in their siblings. People emerge as they do, good solid examples can help them become better, lack of that just makes things harder for them.

Values also have proven to be a major health advantage. Recently an 85 year study, starting with 723 Englishmen, and now includes their descendants. The single largest benefit, beyond health, diet, or exercise, was strong meaningful relationships.

I don't believe these are possible, without strong values, that are held, but not imposed on others. The ability to live and let live, while still holding on to what one believes, while allowing another to live their life their way. The bonds so formed are strong indeed.
